TIPS
Maintenance Schedule
Your new Miniplane Paramotor has a schedule of regular maintenance that needs to be done as early as 10 hours of run time. Most thing are easy and quick, such as to re-torque the head and change the gear oil. Please refer to the Miniplane.com Maintenance page for these important service recommendations for your machine. Torque recommendationscan also be found on this page.
Pulling the Starter
Never pull the starter cord without grounding the Spark Plug! You can check for a spark with the Spark Plug out of the machine, but make sure it is grounded against the cylinder or other ground source. Pulling the Starter Handle without the Spark Plug installed and the Pulg Wire securely connected will permanantly damage your Ignition Coil! The repair for this is not so easy, even though the part is readily available and easy to see. Also make sure that you always install the 2mm aluminum washer under the spark plug - this is important for proper spacing inside the cylinder.
Spark Plug
Always install the Spark Plug Washer (aluminum 2mm) under the Spark Plug! This insures the proper spacing of the spark above the Piston. Failure to install this will result in damage to your Piston and possibly more! Also, Use red threadlock on the small top terminal threads (on the top of the Spark Plug) or the terminal WILL loosen and damage the spark plug boot! Adjust spark plug gap to .020” (0.5mm

MINIPLANE GEARBOX OIL
Add 1/2 of the contents of the oil bottle to gearbox at the time of assembly and change the oil at 10 hours using the other 1/2 of the oil. As for fuel, it's recommended to use premium ethanol free gasoline, mixed with a good semi-synthetic 50:1 2-stroke oil. |
